ILOILO CITY, Nov. 5 (PIA) --- The Iloilo Provincial Health Office (PHO) reiterated its appeal to the public to adhere to the measures and protocols implemented by the provincial government to avert the further spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Dr. Soccoro Quiñon, PHO acting head, said that the public cooperation is necessary in order to eliminate the transmission of the COVID infection.
“All it takes is the 3Ms strategy coined by Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. – magmaskara (wear mask), manghinaw (wash hands), and magdistansya (practice social distancing),” she said.
She said considered the 82 confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded in a single day on November 2, 2020 as "heartbreaking" for the provincial and municipal governments.
“We need strict enforcement of the executive orders (EOs) and ordinances,” she said, adding that everyone should help in the rigid implementation of these measures.
Quiñon said that local transmission cases are alarming as a new peak record of 726 cases were recorded last month.
“If we don’t act as one, many will be getting sick from the virus and may lost not only their livelihood but also their lives,” she added. (JSC/LTP/PIA6 Iloilo/Thumbnail photo courtesy of PICAO)
