42 Iloilo villages get smart TVs

ILOILO CITY, Dec. 3 (PIA) - - A total of 42 villages in Iloilo received smart televisions during the recent launching of the TV Aralan Series by the provincial and city offices of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) here in Iloilo.

Assistant Secretary Jonji Gonzales of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for Visayas (OPAV) said the event, which was also in coordination with DILG Region 6, was attended by 36 village chiefs from Iloilo province and six village chiefs from Iloilo City.

Gonzales said the barangay officials received the smart TVs which will be used to keep their communities abreast of the peace and development efforts of the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC).

The TV Aralan Series is part of the DILG’s Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) that aims to strengthen the community support program initiatives of the military, according to Gonzales, in his report during Monday’s Laging Handa Network Briefing.

It was institutionalized to respond to the DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2020-095 which is entitled “Remedial Measures on the Localization of Executive Order No. 70 and All DILG Peacebuilding Initiatives.”

Aside from the village chiefs, DILG 6 Regional Director Juan Jovian E. Ingeniero and top officials of DILG Iloilo province and city, Governor Arthur Defensor, mayors of target LGUs attended the event. (JSC/laf/PIA6 Iloilo/Photo Courtesy of DILG-Iloilo)
