BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Dec. 2 (PIA) - Farmers in this town recently received assistance from the Department of Agriculture (DA) and this local government unit.
Mayor Ralph Lantion said they recently gave 1,125 containers of free rice seeds while the DA also gave 2,050 bags of fertilizers to their farmers.
The awarding was held at the local government unit's gymnasium which was led by Mayor Lantion, DA and Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) workers.
"This is a big help for our farmers considering the disasters and calamities that we are facing. This will somehow enable them to cope up with their economic loses," he said.
Lantion said the LGU continues to source out assistance for their farmers who are also facing the adverse effects of the Rice Tariffication Law (RTL).
"We are collaborating with our partners in the public as well as the private sector to seek help for our farmers who were directly hit by the calamities and disasters," he added.(MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
