Dgte records 35 active COVID-19 cases; 3 recoveries

DUMAGUETE CITY, Dec. 3 (PIA) -- Dumaguete City has recorded 35 active COVID-19 cases and one new case as of yesterday.

The new COVID-19 case, NegOrCov 656, is a 27-year-old male resident of Brgy. Camanjac and an employee of a private hospital.

NegOrCov 643 is a 46-year-old street sweeper and resident of Brgy. Junob.

However, the city’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases confirmed the recovery of three COVID-19 patients.

From Jan. 30 to Dec. 2 this year, there are a total of 79 COVID-19 cases which include 35 active, 38 recoveries, and six deaths in the city.

Meanwhile, City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah Talla reported that 45 Persons Under Monitoring or PUMs were released yesterday after they completed the mandatory 14-day quarantine in the different isolation facilities without showing any signs and symptoms of ILI (influenza like illnesses).

In contrast, 26 new PUMS begin their strict and mandatory 14-day quarantine in the designated isolation facilities today.

The 26 new PUMs are two close contacts of NegOrCOV 644; one close contact of NegOrCov 596; three close contacts of a COVID-19 case from Bacong; seven OFWs from Kuwait, Qatar, Japan, Norway, Israel, Dubai and Taiwan; 11 Locally Stranded Individuals from Cebu City and Siquijor; one person with Influenza Like Illness; and one newly discharged patient of typhoid fever from Silliman University Medical Center.

Of the 419 PUMS, 208 are in designated hotel facilities; 77 are in the community isolation center; and 134 are in the barangay isolation facilities.

Only two of the 419 PUMs seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of ILI. (jct/PIA7 Negros Orintal with reports from CPIO Dems Demecillo)
