SAN FERNANDO CITY, Dec, 31 (PIA) -- The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) bagged recognitions in the recent Aliw Awards 2020.
Months ago, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) held various events to celebrate its foundation anniversary which are aligned to its vision to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
The two prominent events that were nominated under several categories are the staging of the Mutia ti La Union and the La Union Vibrant Women Incorporated (LUVWI) Charity Ball 2020 Abel Fashion Show and Creative Agricultural Costume Presentation.
Both events won in two categories received by the PGLU on Dec.15 at the Fiesta Pavilion Hotel in Manila.
The Mutia Ti La Union 2020 won Best Festival Practices and Performance while the PGLU led by Governor Francisco Emmanuel R. Ortega III bagged the Best Festival Catalyst/Organizer.
The events were also nominated under the Best Special Events Director.
“These awards will serve as an inspiration for us to make more quality shows that the people deserve and make art a platform for delivering a message – a message that is meaningful and relevant,” said Gov. Ortega in his acceptance speech.
Ortega offered the achievement to all the people behind these events as well as the supporters of the events who made sure of its success.
“I believe that the LUVWI Charity Ball 2020 stood out because of the unique fusion of culture and high fashion while the Mutia ti La Union 2020’s was on the agri-tourism advocacies of the candidates who were representing their towns and its impact to the people,” said Event Director Meynard Yabut Maybituin.
The nominations were coursed through the recommendations of its board of the directors, and members of the media who watched the performances and events in a given period of time for evaluation.
Founded in 1976, Aliw Awards aims to recognize achievements in the country’s live entertainment industry and has been giving trophies and prestige to the most outstanding contributors to the Philippine entertainment industry. (JCR/JPD/AHFF, PIA-1)
