PHO reminds public to boost immune system vs. diseases

SAN JOSE, Antique, Dec 30 (PIA) - - The Provincial Health Office reminded the public to boost the immune system for better physical and mental health.

Health Education and Promotion Officer Irene R. Duldoco, during the PIA radio program, encouraged the public to boost their immune system by having a good sleep, exercise and balanced diet as a way of building physical and mental strength in this time of pandemic.

“The everyday weather might be conducive to flu or any flu-like sickness, that might cause us to worry, thus the public are enjoined to take care of themselves, with daily those of vitamins and enough rest,” she said.

Duldoco emphasized that not all those with  flu-like symptoms are candidates for COVID-19 cases, however, one way to prevent from being contaminated with the virus it is to boost the immune system,

"If possible, stay at home and practice BIDA Solusyon when going to public places and events," she said.

PHO official urged everyone to be a BIDA in their own way to help mitigate the impact of this pandemic: Bawal Walang mask, I-sanitize ang Kamay, Dumistansya ng isang metro at mahigit pa and A for Alamin ang totoog impormasyon.

She also echoed the advocacy on the use of online platforms in associating with friends, attending events, online shopping, attending mass or religious service or other events where online apps are available.

DOH also issued Department Circular No. 2020-0355 which reiterated the minimum public health standards for COVID-19 mitigation during holidays or BIDA Holiday to make the holiday celebration activities safer.

PHO likewise reminded the public to refrain from using firecrackers and pyrotechnics in welcoming the  New Year to prevent untoward incidents caused by these items . (JBG/PSM/PIA-Antique)
