Business Tax Payment in Diffun extended until Feb. 28

DIFFUN, Quirino, Feb. 26 (PIA)—Business owners here who have not yet paid their business taxes are given until February 28, 2021 to settle their obligations at the Municipal Treasure’s Office as contained  in  Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 109 s.2020.

According to Edelita Allas, information officer-designate, the SB  Resolution intends to extend the time for payment of taxes, fees or charges due and accruing to the municipal government without surcharges and penalties.

Allas said this is to give enough time for the business owners who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to save money for their payments and increase the town’s revenue collection.

“As of today, only 80.61 percent of the 1,052 total number of business owners in 2020 were able to pay their business taxes during the conduct of Business One Stop shop or BOSS this year,” Allas said.

She however said that there is a decrease of the number of business owners because some 60 registered businesses applied for closure from July to December last year and January to present.

Meanwhile, some businessmen thanked the municipal government for the said development as they committed to pay their business taxes before the set deadline. (MDCT/TCB/PIA 2-Quirino)
