OWWA-10 to aid 2 OFW groups in Camiguin

CAMIGUIN, Feb. 24 (PIA)—The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA)-10 oriented two overseas Filipino workers (OFW) groups in Camiguin on the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-OWWA Tulong Puso Program that aims to provide livelihood assistance to OFW organizations.

The Balik Pinay OFW Catarman in Catarman and Kabayan OFW Association in Mambajao were asked to submit their requirements to OWWA Regional Office for consolidation and for review of the Regional Review Committee.

“The DOLE-OWWA Tulong Puso Program is a one-time livelihood financial grant that supports the proposed business plan for both start-up and expansion of OFW groups, duly recognized by the Department of Labor and Employment, Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) or the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC),” OWWA-10 Regional Director Petrona Bergado said. 

During their visit, OWWA-10 provided individual livelihood starter kits to the DOLE registered OFW group based in Catarman. About 15 officers and members attended the said orientation.

DOLE-OWWA Tulong Puso Program provides a livelihood assistance that ranges from P250,000 to P1,000,000 relative to the requirements of the business project and the number of members of the OFW organization applying for the grant.

The required documents include the certificate of entrepreneurship development training, copy of DOLE/SEC/CDA registration, organizational profile with individual personal information, business permit issued by local government unit, business project and sketch of project site, and board resolution designating a business manager authorized to file the application for Tulong Puso Program.
