Anti-COVID vaccinee feels no adverse effect after inoculation

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte, Mar 6, (PIA) - - A medical doctor, the first to be vaccinated with Sinovac vaccine at the Laoag City General Hospital (LCGH) today felt no adverse effect after the inoculation.

 

Dr. Crizelda Ciubal-Derpo, the LCGH’s medical and infectious disease specialist, said that she was happy to be inoculated with the anti-coronavirus vaccine for her safety and protection while performing her job in the hospital.

 

“I did not feel any adverse effect upon receiving the Sinovac anti-COVID-19 vaccine, and I’m very happy to received the vaccine because this will ensure my protection and safety from the coronavirus infection while I’m performing my duties at LCGH,” she said.

 

Derpo was one of the recipients of the first batch of the Sinovac provided for free by the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to LCGH’s employees during the launching of the anti-COVID-19 vaccination roll-out.

The LCGH got at least 60 doses of the Sinovac from the Department of Health (DOH) in Region 1 for the initial roll-out of the anti-COVID vaccination.

 

She said that the anti-COVID vaccine is safe as it passed the stringent validation processes conducted by the food and drug experts and specialists.

 

“I’m encouraging all qualified Filipinos to take the anti-COVID 19 vaccines the soonest possible time for self-protection especially now that the mutation of the coronavirus had already occurred,” she said.

 

Dr. Eliezer P. Asuncion, the LCGH’s chief of hospital, said that his office is continuously intensifying its advocacy campaign to urge more qualified residents to be inoculated with anti-coronavirus vaccines.  

 

“We are sustaining the intensified advocacy in encouraging our frontliners and our residents in the province to be inoculated with the anti-COVID virus vaccines because having vaccinated with the vaccines will not only for their self-protection but also for the protection of their family and their community,” he said.

 

In a related development, the first batch of LCGH’s personnel who were vaccinated with the Sinovac had not experienced any adverse effect after the vaccination. (JCR/FGL, PIA 1)
