City gov’t holds 2nd COVID-19 vaccine simex

ILOILO CITY, March 4 (PIA) – The Iloilo City Government on Wednesday conducted another COVID-19 vaccination simulation exercise at the Ateneo de Iloilo here.

Iloilo City mayor Jerry Treñas said that total of 100 volunteers that included traffic and sanitation personnel and members of the Liga ng Barangay participated in the activity and were immunized using pneumonia vaccines.

“I personally visited Ateneo de Iloilo to check the status of the COVID-19 vaccination simulation exercises,” he said.

He said all processes were filmed so that tasks that needed further improvements can be noted and to also ensure that when vaccines arrive, the city will be ready to shield the citizens against the virus.

“I am very happy that the results of our process are quick because of our pre-registration initiative and our QR code system. We were able to finish the steps in approximately 10 minutes,” Treñas said.

Treñas said the conduct of the COVID-19 vaccine simex was a joint effort of the General Services Office, Public Safety and Traffic Management Office, Philippine Red Cross, Iloilo Citizens Action Group, and the City Legal Office.

He added that they were also joined by a paramedic from Qatar who had already finished his vaccination and saw how the system works to share his inputs. (JSC/LTP/PIA6 Iloilo)
