ILOILO CITY, March 31 (PIA) – Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. has issued an executive order that will temporarily suspend the operation of facilities in tourism, recreation, and accommodation establishments from April 1 to 4, 2021 to arrest the surge of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the province.
“We issued Executive Order 114 because we have to adjust health protocols and quarantine measures in the operation of facilities of tourism, recreation, and accommodation establishments,” Defensor said.
According to the EO, the operation or use of facilities and areas for recreation and leisure such as swimming pools, cottages, beaches, playgrounds, game rooms, function rooms, dining halls, food stations, bars and dance halls shall be suspended.
Likewise, the EO also covers tourism, recreation, and accommodation establishments such as beach resorts, inland resorts, water parks, amusement parks, ecological parks, hotels, tourist inns, motels, pension houses, apartment hotels, private homes used for homestay, eco-lodges, serviced apartments, condotels, and bed and breakfast establishments.
However, tourism, recreation, and accommodation establishments may continue to provide basic board and lodging services, such as rooms and meals, to Authorized Persons Outside of their Residences (APORs), returning overseas Filipino workers, and other overseas Filipinos returning to their places of residence, and returning residents.
Swimming and other recreation activities in public beaches and inland waters shall also be prohibited in the aforesaid dates.
Defensor also enjoined local task forces to conduct patrolling, inspection, and exercise visitorial power to enforce these community quarantine measures as well as the minimum health standards. (JSC/LTP/PIA6 Iloilo)
