LAGAWE, Ifugao, March 12 (PIA) - - Female police officers in the province initiated various activities for the observance of National Women’s Month with the theme “Juana Laban sa Pandemya: Kaya!”
Female personnel of Lagawe Municipal Police Station (MPS) assisted the members of the Abinuan Women’s Organization in their livelihood activities by harvesting tiger grasses for the production of soft broom to be sold to customers. They also donated to the organization P3, 000.00, a sack of rice and snacks for their activities.
The team also conducted lectures on anti-rape and anti-drug abuse laws; anti-sexual harassment act and other laws protecting women and children to the people of Abinuan.
“Police are now disciplined and they are the ones reaching the far flung communities to help the people,” Abinuan Punong Barangay Bernardo Dinamling said.
Meanwhile, nine female personnel of the Hingyon MPS also sponsored an outreach program at barangay Southern Cababuyan.
A total of 24 daycare children, 24 mothers, and three senior citizens were served during the activity. The mothers and children were given foods and drinks, and assorted goods for the elderlies. A lecture on Implan Pani-o and Oplan "Ammuna" was conducted.
Women police officers of the Tinoc MPS provided gifts consisting of foods and vitamins to four selected senior citizens at Ap-apid and Poblacion in line with the station's program, "Your Sunset is my Dawn" and Women’s Month.
The NWM celebration serves as a tribute, a platform, and a call to action that highlights the extraordinary roles of ordinary Juanas in the society as trailblazers and harbingers of change. This celebration is also a venue to discuss and address the issues that women continue to face so empowerment can be fully achieved. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
