BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, April 25 (PIA) - The local government unit here will be funding the construction of the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) Building and Training Center (BTC).
Mayor Ralph Lantion said he has recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the BFP to pursue the construction of the BFP-BTC project within the Col. Daniel Lantion Compound in barangay La Torre South.
The five-hectare lot for the project was donated by the LGU through the Lantion Family’s Foundation.
“We are grateful for the help of Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and BFP for their assistance in boosting our fire prevention resources. To date, we have five functional fire trucks ready to respond to any eventuality and fire incident,” Lantion said.
He said the P30 million BFP-BTC will house a training laboratory, motor pool , office and other facilities, among others.
The Col. Daniel Lantion Compound now houses the new Philippine National Police (PNP) building while other buildings will soon be built such as the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), among others.
Lantion said officials of BIR also vowed to open up 100 positions once their building will be fully completed.(MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
