Report complaints on govt programs, policies thru 8888 or 0906-6927324

CALOOCAN CITY, April 5 (PIA) -- Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Chairperson Greco Belgica has urged the public to text their dissatisfaction or grievances through 8888 Citizens' Complaint Center or 0906-6927324

"We ask the public to report complaints on govt programs, policies through our hotline 8888, or through official mobile number 0906 6927324," Belgica said during the latest edition of the Laging Handa public briefing hosted by the Presidential Communications Operations Office.

The official said grievances can also be sent via email at complaints@pacc.gov.ph or through the official Facebook Page of PACC.

"We can fight corruption if we work together, or if someone will stand up against it," he said.

It was earlier announced by PLDT, together with its mobile subsidiary Smart and PLDT Enterprise, that subscribers of both Smart and Sun networks can submit their complaints to 8888 for free to the service platform.

The 8888 SMS system serves as an additional communication channel for the public to send their complaints or grievances on corruption in any government agency, available 24/7.

Meanwhile, Belgica also announced that the PACC launched “Project kasangga Tokhang Laban sa Korapsyon” as it intensified efforts to clean up the bureaucracy.

He said the project aims to encourage all government officials to join in the advocacy of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte against corruption and work with the PACC and officials who will investigate corruption cases.

"We encourage all government officials to join the anti-corruption efforts," he said.

During its launching, he said officials and employees of the Bureau of Customs were asked to signed the anti-corruption manifesto in a bid to curve graft and corruption in government agencies. 

Belgica said aside from the BOC, among the priority agencies to be looked into include the Department of Public Works and Highways, and Bureau of Internal Revenue.

"Also, other priority agencies are the Department of Heakth, Bureau of Immigration, Department of Agriculture, and local government units, through the  DILG [Department of the Interior and Local Government]," he added.

"We will use technology and automation for faster processes and systems such as reporting and investigation, among others," he further said. (PIA NCR)
