NEGROS ORIENTAL, May 16 (PIA) -- A total of 115 household beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the province are set to move out from the program this year.
According to 4Ps Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Provincial Link Reggie Locsin, this is excluding the 229 households that voluntarily waived after a few years from the start of the program due to their improved living conditions.

Locsin, in a recent provincial convergence council meeting, said based on their assessment, the said households have improved their well-being after the government supported their children’s education and health.
She said the families will be delisted from the program because they no longer have eligible children for assistance or monitoring.
However, for households that are expected to leave the program, they will be properly endorsed to their local government unit (LGU) for continuous convergence of programs, services, and monitoring skills from the government, she added.
“One of the things that will be considered is the social welfare and development indicator. This is the tool that we use to assess the level of well-being of our households. They will be re-assessed if they will be qualified to exit the program,” Locsin said.
Based on the agreed plan, the LGUs are tasked to continue monitoring and providing support interventions.
As of February 2021, Negros Oriental has a total of 81,748 household beneficiaries under the Pantawid Pamilya program.
Amid the pandemic, Locsin said the face-to-face Family Development Sessions (FDS) were suspended, but they hope that those who graduated qill continue to live the values and practices they learned from the program.
However, Locsin said “we also have FDS on air which our social marketing in the region will notify the province of the schedule FDS on air via radio or local television. We also have FDS text message blast which will be forwarded to parent leaders to each LGU or barangay for the beneficiaries.”
For beneficiaries without cellphones, they will avail of the home-based FDS, during which printed FDS materials will be distributed for learning activities. (jct/PIA7 Negros Oriental)
