18 Cordillerans to graduate from PMA on May 10

BAGUIO CITY, May 8 (PIA) -- At least 18 Cordilleran cadets are set to graduate  from the Philippine Military Academy(PMA)  on Monday, May 10, 2021
 
The Cordilleran cadets belong to the  164-strong PMA  "MASALIGAN” ((MAndirigmang SAmahan na Lakas at SandIGAN ng Bayan) Class of   2021  composed of 138  males  and  26  females. Two of them  are among the Top 10 of the class while another  is an  awardee in  athletics.

 Cadet First Class Valerie Mae Vicente Dicang  from Bahong, La Trinidad, Benguet, who  graduating as the Top 3  leads this year’s Cordilleran graduating  cadets.

 

Dicang  will receive  the Secretary of National Defense Saber for graduating number three in the Military Precedence List. She will be joining the Philippine Army.

She is the Brigade Company Academics Officer recognized for conducting the implementation of Distance Learning Provisions in the Cadet Corps Armed Forces of the Philippines. She was a consistent Dean’s Lister and also a Commandant’s Lister.
 
 Graduating as the Top 9  is Cadet First Class Michael Angelo Ariola Madriaga from Laya East in Tabuk City, Kalinga.  

 A consistent Dean’s Lister and Commandant’s Lister, he   held assignments as Company Executive Officer and Company Athletic Officer. He is also a constituent of the First Class Policy Board, Silent Drill Company, Chess Corps Squad and Marathon Corps Squad.

He will be joining the Philippine Navy as an Ensign.
 
The other top cadet is Cadet 1CL Jaevin Awingan Latugan of Lubo, Tanudan in Kalinga who is the awardee for the Athletic Saber - male category for being the number 1 in athletic related activities, Intramurals and sports participation.
 


Latugan will also be joining the Philippine Army.
 
The other graduating cadets from the Cordillera region  are Cadet 1CL Archie Boy Semini Andres of Baguio City, Cadet 1CL Kean Bill Aplaten Andres of Baguio City, Cadet 1CL Mathew Vincent Gerardo Loyao of Baguio City, Cadet 1CL Newton Jay Ulidan Ubaldo of Cabatacan, Pudtol, Apayao, Cadet 1CL John John Pangosban Sanchez of Tabuk City, Kalinga, and Cadet 1CL Elvert Bugnosen Lucas of Barlig, Mountain Province who will be joining the Philippine Army.
 
 Cadet 1CL  John Paul Villanueva Laquidan of Baguio City, Cadet 1CL Rogel Martin Poda-an of La Trinidad, Benguet, Cadet 1CL Gian Franco Buminaang Dumelod of Alfonso Lista, Ifugao, Cadet 1CL Renato Fanao Fatawil of Sadanga, Mountain Province, Cadet 1CL Christian James Pagiyen Moling of Bontoc, Mountain Province will  join the Philippine Navy .
 
 Cadet 1CL Michael Kenneth Cascolan Brillantes of Baguio City, Cadet 1CL Reeven Jose Teofilo of Kapangan, Benguet and Cadet 1CL Clinton Paleyan Nadcop of Bontoc, Mountain Province will be joining the Philippine Air Force.
 
These 18 Cordillerans   comprise  the most number of cadets coming from one region  in the graduating class.

Due to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic. the PMA graduation on May 10 will not have the usual fanfare.( JDP/RMC-PIA-CAR)
