MARAWI CITY, May 28 (PIA)--In its efforts to support peace initiatives through education, the Islamic Relief Worldwide- Philippines distributed monthly stipend to 200 internally displaced persons who are orphans and learners in this City.
This assistance dubbed Support to Education and Empowerment of Vulnerable Children and Orphans Affected By Conflict (SEEVCAC) project is funded by the Islamic Relief-United States of America. It aims to support IDP orphans and learners whose access to education is gravely affected by the impact of the coronavirus disease (CoVid19) pandemic.
The beneficiaries will receive P250 per month for one year. They will also receive uniforms, school supplies, sports equipment while the schools will receive a water system, freezer, and teaching materials.
Through the enhancement of teacher's learning kits and/or tools, the organization will also aid its partner school/madaris in improving the shift to the blended learning modality.
This assistance is also in line with the conduct of Marawi Week of Peace on May 17 to 23, 2021. (LELA/PIA ICIC)
