SAN JOSE, Antique, June 2 (PIA) - - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) encourages business enterprises, government offices and other public establishments to adopt the StaySafe.ph digital contact tracing application to help curb the spread of COVID-19.
DTI Antique Supervising Trade and Industry Development Specialist Lynna Joy Cardinal, in an interview, said that the adoption of the StaySafe.ph digital contact tracing application is encouraged by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases. 
This, she said, is in pursuant to DOLE-DOH-DILG-DOT-DTI Joint Memorandum Circular No. 21-01, Series of 2021 or the Implementing Guidelines of the Safety Seal Certification Program.
The digital application is to strengthen the contact tracing initiative of the government to effectively contain the spread of COVID-19.
Cardinal enjoined the private business enterprises, government offices and other public establishments to register admin account by visiting the https://ift.tt/3caPNfU wherein the access and forms are available in the website.
The applicant should fill up the form, check their email and activate the account. Businesses and agencies can log in the Stay Safe admin account then print the QR Code.
On part of the general public, they are also encouraged to download QR scanner in the cellphones through, App Store (iPhone / iOS), Google Play (Android devices) and app Gallery (Huawie).
DTI – Antique Provincial Office has started the dissemination of information to businesses and is assisting the establishments in the generation of their respective QR codes which must conspicuously be posted in the entrances of their premises.
Cardinal emphasized that the use of the digital contact tracing application is one of the requirements in the issuance of the Safety Seal under the Stay Safe Certification Program.
The Safety Seal affirms that the establishment had been found compliant with Minimum Public Health Standards.
DTI is one of the issuing authorities tasked to conduct an inspection, evaluate and qualify the business enterprises for the issuance of a Safety Seal sticker.
Businesses under the jurisdiction of DTI are groceries, supermarkets, convenience stores, construction supply/hardware stores, logistics service providers, barbershops and salons, and service and repair shops.
Other agencies that can issue Safety Seals are the Department of Tourism, Department of Labor and Employment, Local Government Units, Department of the Interior and Local Government/Philippine National Police. (JBG/PSM-/PIA-Antique/DTI)
