2 Caraga provinces, 4 cities log zero Covid-19 cases in 1 week

The DOH-13 weekly update on Covid-19 cases in the Caraga Region.

BUTUAN CITY – Two provinces and four cities in the region have registered zero coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in one week, from March 13 to 19, the Department of Health–Caraga (DOH-13) said in a report Tuesday.

DOH-13 identified the two provinces as Agusan del Norte and the Dinagat Islands, and the cities of Cabadbaran, Bayugan, Tandag, and Bislig.

“During the week, a total of 41 new cases and 41 new recoveries were recorded in the region,” DOH-13 said.

Of the new cases, 14 were recorded in Agusan del Sur, nine in Surigao del Sur, six in Surigao del Norte, eight in Butuan City, and four in Surigao City, the agency said.

Based on the latest data, Caraga Region has a remaining 54 active Covid-19 cases and total cumulative cases of 58,736.

Recoveries, in the same period, totaled 56,523 while Covid-19 related deaths stood at 2,159.

Despite the continuing decrease of Covid-19 infections in the region, DOH-13 said unvaccinated residents must continue to protect themselves and avail of the government's free vaccination.

As of March 20, a total of 1,498,092 individuals in the region have been fully vaccinated, representing 66.63 percent of the target coverage for vaccination.

The region, in the same period, has already administered 3,101,994 Covid-19 vaccines, with 156,835 booster shots, DOH-13 said. (PNA)
