BAGUIO CITY, July 6(PIA) – Seven residents of Baguio who were stranded in Manila in the past months with the imposition of community quarantine due to COVID-19 are finally back in the city.
These locally stranded individuals (LSI) who were brought home through the Hatid Tulong Program arrived at 12:30 AM today on board a Partas Bus with driver Rolando Valdez and bus conductor Rodrick Gallarde.
As a safety protocol being observed in the City, the LSIs were dropped off and processed at the Triage at Teachers Camp.
The LSIs are Mohammad Paudac, 49 ; Gerlie Emmab,25; Gladys Emmab, 35, with son Wayne Emmab, 9; Richard Bolla, 51; Sonny del Rosario, 35, and Cristina Ancheta, 44 years old.
They expressed their gratitude to President Duterte through the Hatid Tulong Program for bringing them home and be reunited with their families.
Mohammad Puadac said he went to Manila to buy some goods but got lockdown for more than two months. He is happy to be back home in Baguio.
Gerlie Emmab, meanwhile lost her job in Manila amid the COVID -19 pandemic.
The Hatid Tulong Program is a government effort led by the Office of the President which provides transportation assistance to LSIs to their respective hometowns.
The Baguio LSIs were among those sent off on July 5 at the Quirino Grandstand to the different areas in Northern Luzon. (JDP/JBZ-PIA CAR)
