PARAÑAQUE CITY, July 3 (PIA) -- The city government of Parañaque placed five areas in Barangay BF on a three-day ‘calibrated lockdown’ due to the increase in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

The City Governement imposed the localized lockdown upon the recommendation of the City Health Office (CHO) and officials of Barangay BF to prevent the spread of the disease and ensure the safety of the residents.

The lockdown started at 6 in the morning, today, July 3 and will end on July 5, Sunday at 12 midnight.

Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez instructed officials to impose the ‘calibrated lockdown’ in Clinicville (Purok 1 and 2), J. Marquez Compound, Sampaloc Site 2 (Apple St., Chico St., Dalandan St.,  Calamansi St.), Masville (Purok 3, Purok 3A, Aratiles 1, Aratiles 2), and Target Range 1.

While under the lockdown, residents of the area will undergo mass testing.

Residents in the areas are restricted from leaving their homes. Medical front-liners and front-liners working for the government are the only ones allowed to go out.

According to the local chief executive, all families in the area will receive basic necessities from the city government during the lockdown.

Olivarez assures the residents that the city will perform a “total disinfection” of the affected areas on Saturday, July 4.

As of July 1, 2020, Parañaque City has recorded a total of 1,120 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city. (PIA-NCR)
