BIR-Capiz exceeds Jan-June tax goal

ROXAS CITY, Capiz, Aug. 23 (PIA) – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)-Revenue District Office No. 72 was able to surpass its collection target for the first semester this year.

Record shows that BIR here collected P547,085,126.77 in taxes from January to June this year.

The actual collection is 11.25 percent higher than the RDO’s goal of P491,744.000.00 for the first semester of 2020 due to the collective efforts of BIR – Capiz employees and the supportive and compliant taxpayers in the province.BIR RDO nO 72

“First of all, I would like to thank the Lord who is always there guiding and protecting us in this pandemic; the beloved taxpayers of Capiz for their great contribution and empathy in this difficult time and the employees and staff of the district office who always support me and continue to do their work despite of the threat of COVID19,” said BIR – RDO No. 72 head Eralen B. De Aro.

She also asked for the support and cooperation of the taxpayers in the remaining months of the tax campaign in 2020 by filing their correct taxes on or before the deadline.

“Our goal for the second semester of 2020 is P438,872,000.00,” she said, adding that the revenuewers will continue to do their civic duty to the country through revenue collection amid the pandemic.

The taxes will be used to fund various programs of the government to spur countrywide development to uplift the quality of life of the Filipinos.
