PRC adapts eGovernance mechanisms amidst COVID-19 pandemic

QUEZON CITY, Aug. 26 (PIA) – With the continued threat of COVID-19, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) adapts eGovernance  mechanisms to effectively deliver the services needed by its clientele.

The PRC initially postponed the conduct of various Licensure Examinations except for  Special Professional Licensure Examinations (SPLE) scheduled on Sept. 20-21 by virtue of Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF EID)  Resolution No. 58 (s.2020). This is also in response to the appeal of DOH to augment the number of health care professionals attending to COVID-19 cases and exploring the possibility of conducting computer-based or online licensure examinations.

For its legal services, the PRC now conducts electronic filing of pleadings and other legal documents, including  administrative investigations through video conferencing to facilitate the conduct of virtual legal proceedings.

The PRC will also grant credit units to all professionals providing essential services in recognition of their devotion to their profession. The Commission has also waived the accreditation fees for free online training and programs and accepted the applications of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)  providers who offered their services online.

PRC also partnered with WExpress courier services for the ID issuances which was piloted within Metro Manila clientele and will be implemented later on nationwide.

Through Microsoft Teams, PRC will conduct a free virtual oathtaking ceremony for all new passers of different board examinations The online schedule and oathtaking application system will be posted at PRC official website and to their SocMed accounts.

Further, PRC mandated its  Regional Offices to create a Regional Facebook Page for IEC dissemination through the PRC established social media platforms. (TNN/PIA-IDPD)
