Ateneo de Davao High School batch 1995 donates respirators to SPMC

 

Turnover of the half-face mask respirators to SPMC frontliners on September 5.

DAVAO CITY (PIA) - The Ateneo de Davao High School batch 1995 recently donated  95 half-face mask respirators to the medical frontliners of the Southern Philippine Medical Center (SPMC).

The donations were formally received by Dr. Allan Arreola, chairperson of the Internal Medicine Department of the SPMC on September 5.

The 3M 6200 respirators with filters will provide an extra layer of protection to the medical frontliners at the SPMC who are assigned to care for COVID-19 patients. The SPMC is the primary COVID center in the Davao Region.

The donations to the SPMC is part of the One Big Fight project of the Ateneo de Davao High School Batch 1995 (ADDUHS95).

“Gusto po naming mabigyan ang mga frontliners ng proteksyon lalo na sa naka-assign sa critically ill COVID patients, kinikilala po naming silang mga bagong bayani ng bayan, (We would like to give the frontliners added protection especially those assigned to critically ill COVID patients, we recognize them as the new heroes of the nation) says Edward Puyod, president of the Ateneo de Davao High School Batch 1995 Alumni Association.

 

The high school batch held an online mini concert which featured batchmate singer Juris Fernandez that rallied donations for the cause.

The One Big Fight Project Committee is composed of ADDU HS 95 batchmates Dr. Julius de Vera, Dr. Yadnee Estrera, Dr. Sigrid Aguirre-Barinaga, Dr Rushcele Veliganio-Golingay, Dr. Leia Lacuesta Corro, CJ Calaguas-Alabastro, Wardy Puyod, and Darlyne Sazon-Rubio.

The One Big Fight project are among the various initiatives lined up by ADDUHS'95 under the Rock The Knight Homecoming theme. With the Ateneo de Davao grand alumni homecoming cancelled of which the ADDUHS'95 is supposed to host, they silver jubilarians have instead channeled their resources to different projects among these is securing neccessary Personal Protective Equipment for the medical frontliners.
