2 FMR construction to serve farmers in Eastern Samar

BORONGAN CITY, Oct. 27 (PIA) – Two Farm-to-Market Roads (FMRs) in Taft and Dolores towns in Eastern Samar will soon be serving farmers as they transport their goods to the next growth centers.

The Eastern Samar District Engineering Office has already started the construction of the two FMR projects in August.

One FMR started its construction from Brgy. Bonghon to Brgy. Sto. Niño, Dolores, Eastern Samar with 830 meters amounting to a total of P12.4 million. The road is believed to support the easy transfer of agricultural products.

Another FMR is being constructed and has completed at least  600 meters that will connect  Brgy. Polangi to Brgy. Gayam, in Taft town with P11.4 million fund allocation.

The said projects are funded by the Department of Agriculture.

According to District Engineer Manolo Rojas the construction of FMR project is a big help to hasten the transportation of agricultural products. It will also give safe and efficient travel to motorists.

This will also allow the government to give immediate response during emergency and calamity.

Based on the contract the said project will be completed on the first quarter of year 2021. (nbq with Engr. Jayson Espeso/DPWH E. Samar)
