1st PRC Molecular Laboratory in Northern Luzon inaugurated

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, Nov. 23 (PIA) - Philippine Red Cross Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon led the inauguration of the 1st PRC Molecular Laboratory in Northern Luzon on Friday.

The inauguration was also attended by Gov. Rodolfo Albano III, Vice Gov. Faustino G. Dy III, 1st District Congressman Antonio Albano, LPGMA Partlylist Representative Allan Ty, Ms. Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo and Iloilo lone District Representative Julienne Barond.

The facility which is located at the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Complex at the Capitol compound in City of Ilagan is the 12th Molecular Laboratory established by Philippine Red Cross in the country.

According to Gordon, the facility will officially start its operations this week which can accommodate the testing of swab specimens coming from the provinces of Cagayan, Ifugao, Kalinga, Apayao and other nearby provinces.

Gordon said the facility has already passed the proficiency of its laboratory equipment that can test up to 2,000 specimens in a day.

“I’m very proud of them [Gov. Albano and Vice Gov. Dy] because they create unity in our community. The Dys and Albanos are models of unity, solidarity and teamwork,” Gordon said. (MDCT/MGE/PIA 2-Isabela)
