CALOOCAN CITY, Nov. 23 (PIA) -- More Filipinos trust the current COVID-19 vacination program, Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque cited a recent Social Weather Station (SWS) survey.
"We view this as a positive development as this means that more Filipinos trust the current government’s vaccination program," Roque said over the weekend.
"We are pleased with the results of the Social Weather Stations National Mobile Phone Survey, conducted last September 17-20, 2020, showing 66% of adult Filipinos are willing to get the COVID-19 vaccine," he added.
This means that six out of 10 Filipinos are willing to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
For its September 17 to 20 survey, the SWS interviewed 1,249 adult respondent Filipinos by mobile phone or a computer hook-up.
It found that 32 percent would “definitely get the vaccine” and 34 percent “probably would get the vaccine.”
The survey showed that 31 percent were unwilling to get vaccinated and 17 percent “definitely would not get the vaccine.”
The SWS said there were more respondents willing to get Covid-19 shot than those willing to get immunization from dengue through the Dengvaxia vaccine.
"We, however, hope there will be a significant increase in the number of Filipinos willing to get the COVID-19 vaccine as President Rodrigo Roa Duterte wants all Filipinos to get vaccines, with priority given to the poor, indigents and other vulnerable sectors," Roque furthered. (PIA NCR)
