PRO6 reaffirms vow to be pro-environment

ILOILO CITY, Jan. 27 (PIA) – The Police Regional Office 6 has reaffirmed their pledge to be pro-environment through a tree planning activity.

Led by PRO 6 Regional Director, Police Brigadier General Rolando F. Miranda, a total of 400 bamboo seedlings were planted Barangay Daja, Maasin, Iloilo early morning of January 22, 2021, said PRO 6 Regional Public Information Officer Lt. Col. Joem Malong in a press release.

The activity, which was in cooperation with the Local Government of Maasin, Iloilo, was also joined by personnel from regional headquarters 6, Iloilo Police Provincial Office and Maasin Police Station as well as the local and barangay officials of Maasin town headed by Mayor Francis A. Amboy.

In his speech, Miranda expressed his gratitude to the local government of Maasin for supporting the activity.

“I have instructed my staff at the regional office that every police officer of PRO6 must plant at least three seedlings this year,” Miranda said.

The activity in Maasin, Iloilo is just the beginning of many tree planting activity in the region, noted in the press release.

PRO6 upholds one of the PNP’s core values which is “Makakalikasan” that promotes activities inclined to saving the environment.

Maasin is the home of the watershed which supplies water in areas of Iloilo province and Iloilo City, Malong said, adding that this year’s tree planting activity has a theme “Kalikasan ay Pangalagaan para sa Kinabukasan ng ating Kabataan. (PIA6/Story and photos from PRO6-RPIO)
