Amai Pakpak Hospital gives unused Sinovac doses to Iligan CHO

ILIGAN CITY, Mar 12 (PIA)--The Amai Pakpak Medical Center (APMC) delivered a total of 158 unused doses of Sinovac vaccines to the Iligan City Health Office (CHO) Thursday, March 11.

Such excess vaccines of the APMC are due to a lesser population of their medical frontliners who signified to be vaccinated.

According to CHO Emergency Operation Center (EOC) Health Cluster Manager Dr. Belinda Lim, the given doses were turned over to Iligan Medical Center Hospital (IMCH) for the partial benefit of three private hospitals in the city, to wit, IMCH receiving 58 doses, Dr. Uy Hospital Incorporated (DUHI), and St. Mary's Maternity and Children's Hospital, Inc. (SMMCHI) getting 50 vaccines each.

She added that these Sinovac doses must be totally consumed by the three hospitals before they will be given another brand of vaccines.

“Huruton sa Medical ang 158 ka Sinovac diri [the Medical will consume all 158 Sinovac vaccines here] and then they will start AstraZeneca… Once we give the number, hutdon gyud na siya ayha ta matagaan sa sunod na batch [that should all be fully consumed before they are given another for the next batch],” said Lim during an exclusive interview yesterday.

Iligan City Health Office counts the newly arrived Sinovac vaccines to assure the complete count of its delivery.

Meanwhile, Lim also shared that the first group of medical frontliners in the city were all successfully inoculated with the initial batch of Sinovac vaccines given.

“So far, ang 990 nahatagan gyud tanan [the 990 were all given]. All are Sinovac. That is the first batch,” she stated.

She further bared that adverse events following immunization (AEFI) were noted from few of the vaccinees but such were just considered minor cases and all circumstances were manageable. (CRG/ PIA-ICIC)
