“Farm tourism is one of the flagship projects of the Department of Tourism, and in our programs we integrate tourism and economic development, food security, and of course environmental protection and this is exactly what Agropolis is all about,” DOT-10 Regional Director Marie Elaine Unchuan said.

The Agropolis Technopark, which will serve as a hub for melding technology, agricultural development, and tourism in its surrounding areas aims to thrust farming technology and pave the way for modern agriculture and food innovation in the province.

As a principle signatory, the DOT-10 commits to the promotion and development of the area’s farm areas to boost tourism for its economic development and provide another source of income to its people.

“One of the things that struck me is the gathering together of the academe, the government, and civil society for this project, the Department of Tourism in behalf of our Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat is in full support of this project and we will be with you from the beginning until we realize this,” she said.
