PASIG CITY, April 29 (PIA) -- The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) ‘MATIKAS’ Class of 1983 recently donated food items in support of community pantries.
The Joint Task Force – National Capital Region (JTF-NCR) received some 150 sacks of rice, 6,000 cans of sardines and 6,000 packs of noodles.
The donations were formally received by Brigadier General Marceliano V. Teofilo PA, Commander of the JTF-NCR from Department of the Interior and Local Government Undersecretary for Peace and Order Bernardo C Florece Jr, who is also the President of the PMA ‘MATIKAS’ Class thru a simple hand-over ceremony held at the JTF-NCR Headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
Usec. Florece said that driven by the true essence of Bayanihan, the donation is just a simple way from their class of reaching out to the communities.
Meanwhile, BGen Teofilo expressed his sincerest gratitude to the class for their charity, sympathy and commitment in serving the Filipino people during these trying times.
“We would like to thank the PMA “MATIKAS” Class of 1983 for this generous donation. This only proves that no one has the monopoly of generosity,” Major General Benedict Arevalo PA, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil Military Operations added.
According to JTF-NCR, the donated goods will be distributed to the different community pantries in Metro Manila to aid our kababayans who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. (PIA NCR)
