Dgte trains rescuers on basic life support

DUMAGUETE CITY, April 30 (PIA) -- A total of 20 government responders are undergoing five-day emergency medical responder and basic life support CPR certification training to enhance their skills and boost readiness in handling crisis situations.

The participants demonstrated on how to properly come to the aid of victims during emergency situation in different scenarios in an exercise at the Talay gymnasium trained by ONE-RESCUE-EMS.

As part of the drill, the participants were also taught how to get the vital signs of victims for proper handling and endorsement to the attending physicians.

Dr. Kenneth Tan Coo, medical director of ONE RESCUE-EMS, shared also the updated cardio pulmonary resuscitation protocols and how to handle trauma patients.   

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo supported the training to further equip the city’s emergency responders with the latest protocols, skills, and knowledge.

The participants include mainly personnel from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office along with representatives from the Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Philippine Army.
